Get ready for an unforgettable month of live music, community fun, and family-friendly activities at Music in May 2026 , presented by two incredible local resources: The Village Arts Association in partnership with The Village Library!

The concert series will feature two outdoor venues — The Village Green and Civic Plaza — giving our community multiple spaces to gather, celebrate, and enjoy live music throughout the month. Monday, May 11th. Civic City Council.
The Village City Council meets once a month. You can find agendas and minutes at the Agenda Center on the City of the Village website, and you can also watch meetings live or on-demand on the City of the Village YouTube channel.
Come to this monthly meeting and meet your new Councilmember Kara Tam-Walts, a long time organizer of joyful events in the Village, who has dedicated countless hours to fostering community in our little city. Meet our new Vice-Mayor Keith Spangler, who volunteers at seemingly every charity organization in the state. Meet our new Mayor Braxton Banks, who in addition to becoming Mayor of the Village also running for House District 85 to represent Nichols Hills, Oklahoma City, and the Village. Tuesday, May 12th. Make flowers! Did April showers bring you enough May flowers? Come to the Village Library and assemble cool flower magnets for your fridge or other metal surface!

Tuesday, May 12th. Glow in the Dark! Come to the Village Library and create a special and dynamic work of art! This embroidery project, geared for teens and adults, shifts in appearance from day to night using glow-in-the-dark yarn. Inspired by the shapes of light in the current Oklahoma Contemporary exhibit SOLID LIGHT.

Come create vibrant, abstract embroidery...then watch it transform when you turn off the light
Friday, May 22nd. Have a splash!
It's finally time for the Splashpad Season Kickoff!

The Duffner Park splashpad is reopening for the summer at 10 AM on May 22nd! Relax at a picnic table, at the stage, or under the shelter while the kids enjoy the playground, swing sets, and the popular water park. Saturday, May 23rd. Let your kids Build a Robot, or build one yourself!
Robotics is for everyone! Come to the Village Library to design and build your very own simple, steerable robot and learn its inner workings.

The amazing team at our local library will provide everything you need to make a circuit, controller, and to customize the look of your bot. Kids (7+), teens, and adults are welcome to come engineer with us.
